Care
Natural materials last a long time when you care for them well. Below you will find general care advice for the materials our pieces are made from. Always follow the sewn-in care label as well.
Leather
Keep leather away from moisture and direct heat. Wipe off dirt with a slightly damp, soft cloth and let the leather dry at room temperature, never on a radiator. Treated occasionally with a colourless leather care product, the leather stays supple. Store leather pieces in an airy, dry place.
Baby alpaca
Baby alpaca is fine and best washed by hand. Use cold water and a mild wool or delicates detergent. Do not wring it; gently press out the water and dry the piece flat on a towel, away from direct sun and heat. This keeps the knitwear in shape. Store knitwear folded, not hanging.
Linen
Linen can be machine washed at a low temperature, ideally on a gentle cycle. Linen creases naturally; this is part of the material's character. Iron it if needed while slightly damp and at medium heat. With every wash, linen becomes softer.
Cotton
Cotton is easy to care for and can be washed at a low to medium temperature. Wash strong colours separately. Air-dry cotton where possible to protect its shape and colour. Ironing is possible at medium heat.
General notes
Wash natural materials only when needed and as gently as possible. This protects the fibres and the environment. If you have questions about caring for a specific piece, feel free to write to us at info@nomadikthread.com.
